DESCRIPTION:Camp Sebago has been a cornerstone of The Salvation Army's camp
ing ministry since 1957\, when Brigadier John Baggs raised $45\,000 to pur
chase the property\, officially dedicating and opening it as Camp Sebago o
n July 12th\, 1958. Each summer\, the camp welcomes campers from across Ma
ine\, Vermont\, and New Hampshire\, serving up to 660 campers over six wee
ks — with this year's capacity at 330 due to ongoing cabin renovations.
The Sanford corps alone is sending 22 campers this summer\, reflecting the
strong community connection that has defined Camp Sebago for nearly 70 ye
ars. The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to help with a camp clea
n-up day\, and they'd love to have your support in preparing the grounds f
or another great season. Come for a few hours or stay for the whole day. F
ood to be provided for everyone that joins!
