On January 20th, the Sanford-Springvale Rotary Club held a “January Thaw" event to raise funds and donate cold weather clothing items for the homeless. Organized by PDG Elias Thomas and his daughter, Past Club and Co-President, Heather Beaupre, the $30 tickets gave attendees food and drink samples at the local KAI Asian Fusion restaurant in Springvale.  A portion of the fee went to support the program of club member, Colleen Adams, the Community Relations officer for the Sanford Police Department with responsibilities for assisting the city’s homeless population.   A grant program from EXIT Realty Corp. International matched $4,000.00 of Net Proceeds raised and donated by EXIT Associates which included a very generous donation by EXIT Key Real Estate of Shapleigh. In all, nearly $10,000 was raised to benefit the homeless in Sanford.
